This is an easy appetizer that seems fancy and tastes like you put forth a ton of effort. They are so easy to make and more delicious and less caloric than bacon wrapped cocktail wieners. So if you are looking for a quick appetizer, then give these a try, they will not fail to impress.

Ingredients:
1 package of bacon (I prefer using maple bacon for these)
1-2 lbs pitted dates

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet or jelly sheet with foil and for extra protection, spray Pam on the foil.
  2. Depending on the length of the bacon, cut the slices in half to make more shorter slices, making sure each individual slice will be long enough to surround a date.
  3. Take a piece of bacon and wrap it around a date, place the date on the baking sheet, seam side down. Repeat until all dates are wrapped and all bacon slices are used.

  4. Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes until bacon becomes crispy. I tend to use the last 5 minutes of baking time with the oven set to broil to ensure achieving proper crispy-ness level.
  5. Remove dates from baking sheet with tongs and place on serving platter, serve warm. Enjoy!
