I found a recipe on Pinterest for this interesting casserole dish, I had looked up the ingredients but when it came time to prepare the dish, the link I had pinned no longer worked. So, instead I prepared the dish how I would have thought it to be prepped. This was very easy to make and pretty delicious. As Nick put it, the flavors are unique but in a good way. Just a different taste than the dishes we usually prepare. It was a nice change of pace.

Ingredients:
1 (8oz) package wide egg noodles
1 onion, chopped
1 Tbsp garlic, minced
1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1 cup tomato sauce
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 cup green onions, chopped
1 cup frozen peas
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions:

  1. Prepare noodles by cooking according to package directions. Rinse in cold water and drain.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  3. While the noodles are cooking, saute the onions and garlic in the butter and oil in a saute pan. Once onions are translucent, add ground beef.  Brown meat; add salt, pepper, garlic salt and tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, green onions, peas, meat sauce and noodles. Place in a casserole dish and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.

  1. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve hot, enjoy!
